COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM International Commercial Law with International Corporate Finance provides an advanced curriculum focused on the intersection of commercial law and corporate financial systems. The programme is structured around core legal and research training designed to build expertise in international business and financial regulation. Students begin with Advanced International Commercial Law Issues, which develops a critical understanding of contractual relationships in firms and markets, as well as hybrid governance structures. The module also examines key themes such as mergers, property rights, and the role of institutions in regulating economic and commercial activity, helping students understand how legal systems shape corporate behaviour and financial decision-making. A central component of the degree is the Dissertation, which allows students to undertake an independent, in-depth research project on a specialised topic. This work demonstrates advanced legal analysis, research capability, and the ability to situate legal issues within wider socio-economic and political contexts. To support this research, students select either Research Methods for LLM Students or Research Methods (Advanced). These modules provide essential training in legal research design, methodology, theoretical frameworks, and academic writing, enabling students to formulate strong research questions and execute rigorous scholarly projects. Overall, the programme equips students with analytical, research, and critical thinking skills essential for careers in corporate law, financial regulation, investment sectors, consultancy, and advanced academic study.
