COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Psychological Research Methods program provides students with an advanced understanding of research approaches in psychology, equipping them with the skills to conduct rigorous, applied investigations into human behaviour and cognition. Core modules cover essential areas including advanced research methods, brain and behaviour across the lifespan, applied neuropsychology, evolution and human social behaviour, and research in perception and cognition, ensuring a strong theoretical and methodological foundation. Students also explore the practical application of research through modules that focus on translating laboratory findings into real-world contexts, and undertake an MSc thesis that develops independent research skills. Optional modules such as an advanced research internship, advanced topics in developmental psychology, and professional work experience provide opportunities for practical engagement, enhancing employability and professional readiness. The program emphasizes critical thinking, data analysis, experimental design, and ethical research practices, while fostering an understanding of the complex interplay between biological, psychological, and social factors in human behaviour.
