COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Interior Architecture and Design with Professional Practice is structured around a series of core modules and an optional professional practice year, designed to develop both creative and professional expertise in interior architecture. The program begins with the Interior Design Process modules, where students focus on preparation, definition, and the development of an interior treatise, enabling them to translate conceptual ideas into practical, design-led outcomes. Complementing this, the Interior Research Process modules provide students with methods and direction for design-led research, encouraging critical thinking, evidence-based approaches, and reflective practice. The Practice and Collaboration modules foster teamwork and professional engagement, allowing students to develop skills in project management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and communication within a simulated consultancy environment. The optional Interior Professional Practice Year offers the opportunity to work full-time in an interior design or architecture practice, applying theoretical knowledge and studio experience in a real-world context while building industry connections and professional competence. Across the program, students develop a balance of technical, creative, and research skills, gaining expertise in design conceptualisation, practical implementation, and professional workflows. By integrating studio-based learning, research, and optional professional experience, the program equips graduates to pursue careers in interior architecture, design consultancies, or advanced academic study.
