COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Psychology with Mental Health degree at Lincoln provides students with a comprehensive understanding of psychological principles alongside specialised knowledge in mental health. In the first year, students explore foundational concepts in brain, behaviour, and cognition, as well as the development of individuals within society, and gain an introduction to mental health and psychological disorders. They also engage in practical and reflective learning through the Psychology in Student Life module, which helps develop essential skills for academic and personal growth. The second year builds on this foundation with modules in biological psychopathology, cognition, developmental psychology, psychological assessment and psychometrics, social psychology, and an in-depth exploration of mental health and wellbeing. Students also have the option to enhance their global perspective through international study or a work experience year. The third year consolidates and deepens students’ knowledge across core areas, revisiting biological psychopathology, cognition, developmental psychology, assessment, social psychology, and understanding mental health and wellbeing, with further opportunities for international study or professional experience. Throughout the program, students develop analytical, research, and practical skills, allowing them to critically evaluate psychological and mental health issues. This prepares graduates for careers in mental health services, healthcare, education, or further postgraduate study.
