COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Psychology with Forensic Psychology degree at Lincoln provides a comprehensive study of both general psychology and its application in forensic contexts. In the first year, students build a foundation in brain, behaviour, and cognition while exploring the development of individuals in society and the basics of forensic psychology, alongside modules that support academic and personal growth. The second year deepens understanding with core modules in cognition, developmental psychology, psychological assessment, and social psychology, while specialised forensic topics such as psychology of prisons and understanding offending behaviour introduce students to real-world applications of psychology within the criminal justice system. Students also have opportunities for international study or work experience, allowing them to gain practical skills and insights into professional practice. In the final year, core modules continue to reinforce knowledge in cognition, development, psychological assessment, and social psychology, while the forensic focus remains on prisons and offending behaviour, helping students consolidate their understanding of complex psychological and legal concepts. Throughout the program, students develop research, analytical, and evaluative skills, alongside the ability to apply theory to practical forensic contexts.
