COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science program at the University of Lincoln offers a structured and progressive pathway for students to develop the knowledge, skills, and professional competence required for a career in paramedicine. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through core modules such as Essential Skills for Paramedic Science, Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology, Mental Health and Resilience, and Time Critical Complex and Special Populations. These modules provide essential clinical skills, introduce the human body and its functions, and explore mental health, resilience, and the care of patients in urgent or complex situations. The second year focuses on consolidating practical skills and expanding theoretical understanding, with modules including Developing Skills for Paramedic Science, Interprofessional and Collaborative Practice Across the Health Professions, Pathophysiology for Paramedic Science, and Public Health and Health Determinants. These modules emphasize collaborative working, understanding disease processes, and the impact of public health on patient care. In the final year, students refine advanced clinical and professional skills through Augmenting Skills for Paramedic Science, Clinical Pharmacology for Paramedic Science, Leadership and Education Support, and Research and Evidence-Based Practice. Across all three years, students combine academic learning with hands-on clinical experience, preparing them to deliver safe, effective, and autonomous care in a variety of emergency and healthcare settings while fostering leadership, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice.
