COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Games Computing program at the University of Lincoln structures a three-year curriculum applying computer science principles to game development. Year 1 lays foundations in algorithms and data structures, programming basics, game design, game studies, software engineering, and professional development. Year 2 builds advanced competencies through artificial intelligence, concept development, full stack development, game programming, team software engineering, and user experience design. Year 3 focuses on core graphics, physics simulation, and a major project, with optional specialisms in autonomous mobile robotics, cyber security, image processing, machine learning, mobile application development, parallel programming, or virtual and augmented reality. This progression cultivates versatile skills for the games industry and broader digital sectors, emphasising engaging, immersive technologies like 3D graphics and AI. Graduates are primed for roles in development, design, and innovation.
