COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Forensic Chemistry program at Lincoln integrates rigorous chemistry with forensic science across three years, preparing students for criminal investigation roles. Year 1 establishes foundations through core chemistry modules on energy, bonding, mechanisms, and synthetic techniques, alongside crime scene investigation, laboratory analysis, and professional practice. Year 2 advances to stability, activated systems, inorganic synthesis, advanced crime scene techniques, marks and traces evidence, and quality assurance. In Year 3, students master stereochemistry, nanoscience, forensic toxicology, drugs of abuse, and advanced IO-chemistry, culminating in a structured research project, with options in biological chemistry or fire, explosives, and nuclear forensics. The research-centred curriculum fosters analytical precision, evidence handling, and courtroom-ready reporting. Graduates emerge equipped for forensic laboratories, law enforcement, and specialised scientific services.
