COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Ecology and Conservation program at Lincoln provides a rigorous three-year progression addressing biodiversity loss and ecosystem threats. Year 1 establishes core foundations through animal anatomy, plant function, ecology, sustainable ecosystems, Earth observation, GIS, field skills, and research methods. Year 2 advances to conservation biology, evolution, ecosystem management, data analysis, and a residential UK field course, with options in animal behaviour, biogeography, human impacts, or study abroad. In Year 3, students undertake global change biology, plant-animal interactions, soil biology, practical conservation skills, and an independent research project, complemented by choices in behavioural ecology, palaeobiology, coastal systems, environmental management, or an optional overseas field trip. Taught by research-active staff and industry practitioners, the curriculum integrates theoretical principles with hands-on fieldwork at sites including Kew Gardens and international locations. Graduates gain professional competencies to inform policy, manage habitats, and mitigate environmental change effectively.
