COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance degree at the University of Lincoln provides a comprehensive and progressive curriculum designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for careers in banking, finance, and investment management. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through core modules including Introduction to Accountancy and Finance, Organisational Behaviour, Principles of Economics, Principles of Marketing, and Statistics for Finance and Economics, with the option to participate in the Lincoln Student Managed Investment Fund. The second year deepens understanding of the financial sector, covering Contemporary Issues in Banking, Financial Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Money, Banking and Financial Markets, and international economic perspectives through modules such as International Economics and the Macroeconomic Environment for Business. Applied learning is encouraged through options like a year abroad and the student-managed investment fund. In the final year, students advance their technical and analytical skills with modules in Advanced Financial Management, Econometrics, Personal Financial Planning, and Private Banking and Wealth Management, alongside optional modules including Behavioural Finance, Entrepreneurial Finance, and Decision-Making and Game Theory. A short dissertation option allows students to undertake independent research.
