COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering program at Lincoln delivers a progressive three-year curriculum blending foundational theory with industry-focused practice. Year 1 establishes core engineering principles through design challenges, electrical technology, mechanics, materials, mathematics, and thermofluids. Year 2 advances to control systems, digital and analogue electronics, electrical machines, mechatronics, data simulation, industrial engineering, and an innovation project, with optional industry placement or study abroad. In Year 3, students master communication systems, internet of things, programmable logic, and a substantial individual project, choosing from options in automation, robotics, power electronics, signal processing, smart energy, or advanced control. Developed with Siemens, the course integrates research-led teaching and hands-on projects to bridge academia and professional practice. Strong cross-disciplinary links with mechanical engineering enhance versatility. Graduates emerge equipped to design sustainable solutions in energy, automation, and communications.
