COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first stage of the BArch (Hons) Architecture degree at the University of Lincoln, students engage with a combination of core and optional modules designed to develop their design, analytical, and technical skills. The core modules, Design 1, Interpret 1, and Realise 1, provide a structured foundation in architectural practice, encouraging students to explore the principles of design, the interpretation of architectural concepts, and the realisation of creative ideas through practical and technical application. These modules integrate theory with hands-on projects, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation while enabling students to develop a personal design approach. In addition to the core curriculum, students have the opportunity to broaden their experience through optional modules, including a Design & Architecture Year in Industry, which offers professional work experience, and the Lincoln School of Design and Architecture Semester Study Abroad or Study Abroad Module, allowing students to gain international exposure and insight into global architectural practices. Together, these modules combine academic rigor with practical application, providing a well-rounded preparation for subsequent stages of architectural education and professional practice. The combination of studio-based learning, real-world experience, and optional international study ensures that students graduate with the creative, technical, and professional skills needed to excel in the field of architecture both nationally and globally.
