COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Geography program at Lincoln integrates human and environmental perspectives to address pressing global challenges across three years. Year 1 establishes core foundations through Earth observation, GIS, sustainable ecosystems, social justice, hazards, and spatial processes. Year 2 advances to development studies, data analysis, human impacts, biogeography, hazards in society, and research theory, with optional placement or study abroad. In Year 3, students undertake climate change policy, environmental management, global margins, rethinking nature-society relations, and a dissertation, complemented by choices in environmental histories, political ecology, or overseas fieldwork. The curriculum fosters analytical, collaborative, and interdisciplinary skills through real-world application and the Student as Producer model, where undergraduates co-research with academics. Graduates emerge equipped to tackle sustainability, inequality, and geopolitical issues in policy, planning, and research roles.
