COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Drama and English program at Lincoln provides a balanced three-year joint honours pathway integrating performance practice with literary scholarship. Year 1 establishes core skills through devising, ensemble performance, and chronological study of texts from medieval to contemporary periods. Year 2 deepens theoretical engagement via literature of late capitalism and critical theory, alongside a broad range of options in screen acting, American literature, Renaissance and Romanticism, digital performance, avant-garde theatre, placements, or study abroad. In Year 3, students pursue advanced choices including directing, professional production, festival showcases, Gothic studies, Shakespeare, single-author research, or children’s literature. The curriculum fosters creative collaboration, textual analysis, and professional versatility, supported by industry-connected practitioners. Graduates emerge equipped for careers in theatre, publishing, education, media, and cultural sectors with both artistic and intellectual proficiency.
