COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Dance program at the University of Lincoln structures a progressive three-year pathway blending intensive contemporary training with creative and theoretical development. Year 1 establishes core foundations in improvisation, composition, collaborative performance, anatomy, technique, and creative arts exploration, with optional performance or writing modules. Year 2 advances through contact choreography, somatics, fitness-integrated technique, place-focused studies, and specialist electives, alongside options in digital performance, teaching, industry placements, or study abroad. In Year 3, students refine performance choreography, company management, leadership technique, and investigative practice, supported by choices in production, artist residencies, cultural industries, or scriptwriting. The curriculum fosters technical mastery, choreographic innovation, and professional versatility through workshops, visiting artists, and real-world projects. Graduates emerge as dynamic, self-producing dance professionals equipped for performance, choreography, education, and management roles within the evolving arts sector.
