COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business and Finance degree at Lincoln is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of business operations and financial management, equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in a dynamic, global business environment. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge across core areas including business law, governance, ethics, data analytics, accountancy, economics, marketing, and organisational behaviour, with opportunities to participate in the Lincoln Student Managed Investment Fund. The second year builds on this foundation, focusing on financial management, human resource management, operations, international economics, and applied finance, while offering optional modules in banking, cross-cultural management, sustainability, marketing, and professional practice, as well as the chance for an international year abroad. In the final year, students refine their expertise through advanced modules in financial management, personal financial planning, strategy, and elective topics such as behavioural finance, crisis management, decision-making, environmental management accountancy, financial strategy, and global entrepreneurship. The course also supports independent and client-based projects, allowing students to apply their learning to practical scenarios. Throughout the degree, emphasis is placed on developing analytical, strategic, and leadership skills, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for careers in finance, management, consultancy, or entrepreneurship, with the ability to navigate complex challenges in the modern business world.
