COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Accountancy and Finance program is structured over three years, combining core modules with optional pathways to provide a comprehensive understanding of accounting, finance, and business principles. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through core modules such as Business Law, Governance and Ethics, Data Analytics for Business, Introduction to Accountancy and Finance, Organisational Behaviour, Principles of Economics, and Principles of Marketing. Optional modules include Introduction to Accountancy, Introduction to Finance (Applied), and participation in the Lincoln Student Managed Investment Fund, allowing practical exposure to financial decision-making. In the second year, students advance their expertise with core modules including Financial Accountancy, Financial Management, Innovations in Finance, International Economics, and Management Accountancy, while optional modules provide opportunities to study Competition and Regulation, Financial Markets and Institutions, Forensics, Audit and Assurance, Macroeconomic Environment for Business, Professional Practice, and further engagement with the Student Managed Investment Fund or an international year abroad. The final year consolidates learning with core modules in Advanced Financial Accountancy, Advanced Financial Management, and Advanced Management Accountancy. Optional modules allow further specialisation in areas such as Behavioural Finance and Economics, Financial Strategy, Personal Financial Planning, Private Banking and Wealth Management, Taxation, Strategy, and independent projects, including research, responsible enterprise, or client-based projects. This combination of theoretical study, practical application, and professional development equips graduates to pursue careers in accounting, finance, investment, and related business fields.
