COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cloud Computing MSc offers a structured blend of core and optional modules across two semesters, allowing you to build strong foundations while tailoring your learning to your interests. In Semester 1, you will study core modules in Internet and Cloud Computing and Mobile and Web Applications, gaining essential knowledge of distributed systems and modern application development. You will also complete the Personal and Group Skills module, which may be taken in either semester. Alongside these core units, you can choose two optional modules from a diverse list, enabling you to focus on areas such as computational intelligence, software quality assurance, advanced C++ programming, agile cloud automation, interaction design, ubiquitous computing, technology management or operational research. In Semester 2, you will deepen your technical understanding through the core module Service-Oriented Architectures while continuing to develop your teamwork and professional skills. You will then select three further optional modules, with opportunities to explore algorithm design, big data analytics, cybersecurity, AI for space applications, bioinformatics algorithms, intelligent service design or generative AI development. This flexible structure ensures you gain both broad expertise and specialist capabilities, preparing you to design, analyse and implement advanced cloud-based and data-driven systems.
