COURSE CURRICULUM

The Public International Law LLM offers students a comprehensive and flexible program of study, combining core research with a wide range of optional modules to suit individual interests and career goals. Students complete a dissertation alongside eight option modules, of which at least six must be chosen from the Public International Law stream. In the first semester, students select up to four modules from options including International Space Law, General Principles of International Law, Human Rights and Human Wrongs, Legal Responses to Global Injustice, International Competition Law, International Migration and Refugee Law, Law of the United Nations, the Law of International Protection for Asylum Seekers and Refugees, and Justice and the Future. The second semester allows further specialisation with up to four modules from options such as Feminist Perspectives on International Law, Freedom of Expression, Commercialising Space, International Investment Law, European Convention on Human Rights, and International Law and the Use of Force. Additionally, students may select up to two modules from areas outside the core stream, including International Commercial Arbitration, Corporate Governance, Health Law, Intellectual Property, Banking Law, and International Environmental Law. This structure equips graduates with both broad and specialised knowledge of public international law, alongside advanced research, analytical, and professional skills applicable in legal practice, international organisations, and policy-making institutions.
