COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM in International Commercial Law is structured to provide students with both core and optional modules, enabling them to develop specialised expertise in international commercial law while tailoring their studies to individual interests. The core module, Dissertation, allows students to undertake an extended, independent research project on a topic within international commercial law, demonstrating analytical, research, and writing skills. Students select eight option modules, with at least six drawn from the International Commercial Law stream. In the first semester, up to four modules can be chosen from options such as Civil Dispute Resolution Methods, Intellectual Property Law for International Business, International Competition Law, International Sales Law, International Commercial Arbitration, Corporate Governance, and The Law of International Protection: Asylum Seekers and Refugees. In the second semester, up to four modules may be selected from Contemporary Challenges in Intellectual Property Law, Commercialising Space, International Banking Law, Company Law, International Investment Law, and The Practice of International Commercial Arbitration. To allow flexibility, students may also select up to two modules outside the stream, including subjects such as International Space Law, General Principles of International Law, Human Rights, Health Law, and Environmental Law. This combination of modules equips graduates with advanced legal knowledge, research expertise, and professional skills, preparing them for careers in international law firms, corporate organisations, consultancy, and regulatory bodies.
