COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc in Creative Computing provides a comprehensive education at the intersection of technology, creativity, and design, preparing students to develop interactive applications, immersive experiences, and innovative digital solutions. In the first year, students build a foundation in computing, programming, digital arts, creativity, business and financial computing, games, gamification, and design, with options to explore object-oriented programming or data analysis for business decisions. The second year focuses on advanced computing and creative technologies, including databases, domain modelling, developmental computing, concurrent design, entertainment technology, user interface design, and big data analysis. Students can also choose modules in AI, digital storytelling, equity, diversity and inclusion, or working in creative industries, fostering both technical and creative skill sets. In the final year, students undertake a year-long entrepreneurial project, exploring computational creativity and emerging technologies while engaging with societal, professional, and technological considerations. Additional options include mobile and web applications, global cultures, sustainability-focused projects, independent study, technology management, and advertising and consumer culture, allowing for further specialisation. Throughout the degree, students engage in practical, project-based learning, industry collaborations, and real-world applications, gaining experience and skills in problem-solving, creativity, project management, and innovation. Graduates leave equipped to pursue careers in creative technology, immersive media, AI-driven design, and related industries, with both technical competence and entrepreneurial insight.
