COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence provides students with a comprehensive education in both core computer science principles and specialized AI techniques, preparing them for careers in AI, software development, and data-driven industries. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in computing, programming, mathematics, computer architecture, algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, software lifecycle, and personal and professional development. Emphasis is placed on developing key transferable skills such as teamwork and communication alongside technical knowledge. The second year introduces more complex challenges, including software system development, project management, and collaboration on realistic team projects. Students begin to specialise in AI through core modules in foundations of artificial intelligence, operating systems, databases, information security, and software architecture, with optional modules in data analytics, user interface design, or computation foundations. In the final year, students deepen their AI expertise and explore applications in areas such as deep learning, computer vision, space, and software engineering through advanced modules and a major computer science project. Additional optional modules allow further specialisation in areas like mobile and web applications, cloud computing, algorithm design, cryptography, functional programming, and emerging AI technologies. Throughout the degree, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, programming, analytical, and project management skills, equipping them to create intelligent systems, innovate with AI, and succeed in a technology-driven world.
