COURSE CURRICULUM

The General Engineering course begins with a shared first year across all engineering disciplines, giving students a strong grounding in core principles. In this year, students study sustainable engineering design, solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical engineering fundamentals, digital electronics, and mathematics with programming, allowing flexibility to switch to other engineering degrees before year two. The second year builds interdisciplinary skills in mechatronics, control systems and computational engineering, while also introducing mechanical specialisation. Students participate in an integrated team design project and study modules such as integrated engineering design, system dynamics and control, mechatronics, and engineering management, alongside optional modules in materials, aerodynamics, vibrations, processing or applied thermodynamics. In the final year, students deepen their expertise through a wide range of options and undertake a substantial individual project that explores a specific engineering challenge. Core topics include state variable control, machine learning for engineers and sustainable electrical systems. Optional modules allow further specialisation in areas such as finite element analysis, heat transfer, tribology, digital control, structural dynamics or aerospace materials. Overall, the course provides a comprehensive, flexible and interdisciplinary engineering education that equips graduates for diverse technical and professional roles.
