COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sustainability and Consultancy MSc equips students with the knowledge and skills to lead sustainability initiatives within businesses and organisations. The program begins with a foundational module on Business, Environment and Sustainability, which introduces the relationships between business, society, and the natural environment, highlighting responsibilities, challenges, and potential solutions. Students then study the Regulatory and Planning Context for Sustainable Projects, gaining insight into global planning processes, the role of consultants, and the implementation of environmental and social regulations. The Managing and Delivering Sustainability through Projects and Organisations module provides practical skills for designing and developing sustainable projects at both project and organisational levels, emphasizing hands-on learning and applied problem solving. In the third semester, students undertake the Sustainability Consultancy Project, a 90-credit module in which they apply theoretical and practical knowledge to a real-world consultancy assignment with an industry partner. Over twelve weeks, students develop and deliver a project, learning project design and management, gaining sector insights, and producing measurable outcomes for a host organisation. The School facilitates connections with industry partners, though students may also bring their own project ideas. This project not only develops professional expertise but frequently leads to employment opportunities. Students conclude the program by presenting their progress and submitting a final consultancy report, demonstrating their applied knowledge, analytical skills, and capacity to deliver sustainable solutions.
