COURSE CURRICULUM

The Infection, Immunity and Human Disease MSc equips students with an in-depth understanding of human health and disease through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The program covers both infectious and non-infectious diseases, advanced immunology, medical diagnostics, and the treatment of infectious diseases and cancer, providing a strong foundation in contemporary biomedical science. Students gain practical skills through modules in advanced biomolecular technologies, practical bioinformatics, and a protein engineering laboratory project, enabling them to apply modern research techniques in molecular biology, structural biology, and computational analysis. Research planning and scientific communication are embedded throughout the course, helping students develop critical skills in designing, presenting, and interpreting scientific research. The program culminates in a substantial Bioscience MSc Research Project, allowing students to undertake independent laboratory-based research tailored to their interests within infection, immunity, or human disease. This combination of theoretical instruction, practical skills, and research experience ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in biomedical research, healthcare, diagnostics, and the life sciences industry, as well as for further academic study.
