COURSE CURRICULUM

This program consists entirely of compulsory modules that build a comprehensive foundation in modern dental materials, digital manufacturing and research skills. The core Dental Materials module (60 credits) develops deep expertise in the properties, clinical applications and laboratory use of contemporary biomimetic and regenerative materials, while also introducing numerical methods for predicting material behaviour. Additive & Subtractive CAD Manufacturing in the Dental Workflow (15 credits) provides hands-on experience with milling and 3D printing, teaching you to prepare digital files and fabricate mock prostheses as you evaluate the advantages and limitations of each technique. Innovation Management in Practice (15 credits) equips you with key principles and tools for managing and developing innovation within clinical and research environments. The Individual Project module (45 credits) allows you to undertake independent research, strengthening your skills in literature review, methodology, ethics, data handling and research presentation. Research Methods, Ethics and Statistics (30 credits) further supports this by training you in project management, academic writing, safe research practice and appropriate statistical analysis. Finally, Evidence Synthesis and Review Methodologies (15 credits) teaches you how to conduct systematic, scoping and narrative reviews using rigorous methods to evaluate and integrate evidence. Together, these modules create a robust, research-driven curriculum that prepares you for advanced work in dental materials and related fields.
