COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the MSc in Business Analytics and Decision Sciences, students complete a series of compulsory modules that develop both technical and decision-oriented analytical skills. Modules such as Effective Decision Making and Advanced Management Decision Making focus on understanding human decision processes and applying analytical reasoning to complex business problems. Business Analytics and Decision Science, Forecasting and Advanced Business Analytics, and Quantitative Analysis equip students with the tools to analyse large datasets, generate forecasts, and derive actionable insights. Evidence Based Consultancy emphasizes applying analytical findings in practical business contexts, while the Dissertation provides an opportunity for independent, research-led work, consolidating technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Optional modules allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests and emerging areas in the field, including Applied AI in Business, Machine Learning in Practice, Techniques of Influence, Creating Effective Data Visualisations, Risk Perception and Communication, and Digital Technologies for a Sustainable Future. Together, the compulsory and optional modules provide a comprehensive balance of theory, practical application, and research experience.
