COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the MSc in Banking and International Finance, students complete a series of compulsory modules that provide a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of finance. Quantitative Methods equips students with essential analytical and statistical skills needed for financial decision-making, while Corporate Finance and Applied Finance focus on the principles of financial management, investment analysis, and strategic financial planning. Commercial Banking and International Banking and Finance explore the operations of banks, global financial systems, and risk management in cross-border contexts. The Accounting and Finance Dissertation allows students to conduct independent research, applying their knowledge to a substantial project, while Critical Skills for the Finance Professional develops essential professional competencies such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making. In addition to these core modules, students can choose from a wide range of optional modules to tailor their studies to specific interests and career goals. Options include Information and Organisation Design, International Business Finance, Forensic Accounting and Finance, International Investment, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Portfolio Risk Management, and Python Programming for Finance.
