COURSE CURRICULUM

The Advanced Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) MSc offers a strong combination of core and optional modules that build expertise across key areas of AI and computer science. Compulsory modules cover essential foundations, beginning with knowledge representation and reasoning, where you learn to model complex real-world scenarios using formal languages and automated reasoning techniques. Machine Learning builds your understanding of major algorithms, their capabilities, limitations and performance evaluation, while Deep Learning develops advanced practical skills for building modern AI systems, including multimodal architectures. The 60-credit research project allows you to apply your learning to a substantial real-world problem, often in collaboration with industry. A wide range of optional modules lets you tailor your degree to your interests, with choices including data science, cloud computing systems, blockchain technologies, bio-inspired computing, algorithms, programming for data science, and data mining and text analytics.
