COURSE CURRICULUM

The program includes a range of compulsory modules that build advanced expertise in chemical engineering. Chemical Products Design and Development introduces the process of bringing new products to market, connecting performance, benefits and customer needs. Multi-Scale Modelling and Simulation develops your understanding of modelling at microscopic to macroscopic scales using techniques like molecular modelling, computational fluid dynamics and process systems modelling, applied through real case studies. Advanced Reaction Engineering covers complex topics such as reactor stability, non-ideal flow, catalysis and multiphase reactor design. Advances in Chemical Engineering explores current innovations including sustainable processes, digital manufacturing and advanced materials. A major Research Project allows you to apply your learning to a real-world challenge while working alongside researchers and industry partners, gaining experience in planning, conducting and presenting independent research. Optional modules offer further specialisation. These include biorefining and future fuels, carbon and energy management, and clean energy production technologies such as wind and solar. Other options examine material characterisation, nanomaterials, and advanced ceramics, polymers and composites. Together, these modules equip you with a strong scientific foundation, practical modelling and analytical skills, and specialist knowledge suited to modern industrial and research environments.
