COURSE CURRICULUM

The Music Management MA focuses on equipping students with the practical skills and industry knowledge required to succeed in the global music and creative industries. The program combines theoretical learning with hands-on experience through a series of core modules that cover creative industries management, live music management and promotion, contemporary recording industry practices, and the financial and commercial aspects of music, such as how songs generate revenue. Central to the course is the Music Management Project, a major 60-credit practical project that allows students to apply their learning to real-world challenges, build professional experience, and develop a strong industry portfolio. Optional modules, including intellectual property management, entrepreneurship and enterprise creation, and managing digital business, enable students to tailor their studies to their career goals, providing further specialisation and practical skills applicable to running businesses or managing projects within the music industry. Through this combination of applied projects, industry-focused teaching, and academic study, the program prepares students to launch their own music ventures, progress within established organisations, or enhance their careers as music managers or creative professionals. Graduates gain a well-rounded understanding of both the business and creative sides of the music industry, ensuring they are ready to operate effectively in a rapidly changing global environment.
