The Global Performance and Cultural Industries MA combines theoretical study with practical engagement to prepare students for careers in the global cultural and creative sectors. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of performance and cultural industries within international contexts, focusing on how live and digital arts are produced, managed, and consumed by diverse audiences worldwide. Students undertake an Independent Research Project, allowing them to explore a topic of personal or professional interest in depth and develop advanced research skills. Core modules, such as The Creative Economy in Global Contexts and Perspectives on Global Performance, provide insights into the economic, social, and cultural dynamics shaping performance and cultural industries, highlighting the interaction between local practices and global trends. Students have the opportunity to tailor their learning through optional modules, including Performance and Collaborative Enterprise, Arts and Activism, and Arts-Based Practices in Health and Wellbeing, enabling exploration of specialized areas within the creative and cultural sectors.
