COURSE CURRICULUM

The Creative Writing MA offers a structured yet flexible program designed to develop both practical and research skills in creative writing. The course includes compulsory modules such as Approaches to Creative Writing, which provides a foundational understanding of creative practice and theory, and the Creative Writing Research Project, allowing students to undertake an extended independent project, either focusing on a single creative work or a broader portfolio of writing. Alongside these core modules, students can choose from a wide array of optional modules tailored to diverse interests, genres, and interdisciplinary approaches. Options include modules in poetry, prose fiction, and script development, as well as thematic and cultural studies such as climate writing, global literature, digital storytelling, and literature in historical or regional contexts.
