COURSE CURRICULUM

The Pharmacology BSc at Leeds provides a comprehensive understanding of how drugs interact with the human body, from molecular mechanisms to therapeutic applications. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in human biology, physiology, pharmacology, and neuroscience, developing essential laboratory, clinical, and field skills. Core modules cover human body systems, molecular and cellular processes, the fundamentals of pharmacology, and practical data analysis, with optional modules introducing immunology, microbiology, nutrition, or discovery-based topics. In the second year, students deepen their knowledge of pharmacology through experimental and computational skills, advanced pharmacological concepts, and applied drug development. Team-based modules allow students to address local and global biomedical challenges, fostering critical thinking, communication, and professional skills. Optional modules offer further specialization in areas such as cancer biology, tissue engineering, neuroscience, and medical immunology.
