COURSE CURRICULUM

The Economics and Mathematics BSc at Leeds University offers a comprehensive education that combines rigorous training in mathematics with in-depth economic theory and analysis. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in core mathematics, probability and statistics, computational techniques, and economic theory, alongside modules in global economic history to provide historical context to modern economic issues. Year two develops intermediate skills in microeconomics and macroeconomics, statistical methods, optimisation, and research techniques, while optional modules allow exploration of areas such as financial mathematics, stochastic processes, time series, industrial economics, health economics, business economics, ethics, and econometrics.
