COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Audiology course is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of hearing and balance disorders, combining theoretical knowledge with practical clinical experience over three years. In the first year, students build a foundation in healthcare practice, biological principles, and hearing science, while developing essential audiological clinical skills. They learn to assess routine audiological disorders, apply auditory rehabilitation techniques, and understand the fundamentals of hearing science, preparing them for patient-centered practice. The second year expands on this foundation, introducing research methods and evaluation to develop analytical and evidence-based approaches. Students further enhance their clinical expertise through advanced audiological skills, focusing on specialist disorders, auditory rehabilitation, and paediatric and educational audiology, enabling them to manage complex cases in diverse settings. In the final year, students undertake a substantial research project to develop independent research skills and critical thinking. They continue to refine their clinical expertise through advanced audiological assessment and management and explore innovations in audiology, preparing them for the future of the profession. Throughout the course, students gain a combination of scientific, technical, and interpersonal skills, equipping them to support patients across the full spectrum of hearing and balance care, and to pursue careers in clinical practice, research, or related healthcare roles.
