COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting and Finance course offers a structured progression across three years, combining essential financial knowledge with analytical and practical skills. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through compulsory modules such as Foundations of Finance, Financial and Management Accounting, Mathematics and Statistics, and Economic Theory for Finance. These provide the core understanding needed for more advanced study, while optional modules like Foundations of Banking or an additional mathematics module allow students to tailor their learning. The second year focuses on strengthening technical expertise through modules including Corporate Finance, Financial Econometrics, Financial Analytics, and intermediate-level accounting subjects. Students can broaden their skills further with a wide range of optional modules, such as Applied Credit Analytics, Python Programming for Finance, Business and the Legal Environment, or work-based learning opportunities. In the final year, students apply their learning to complex real-world issues through the compulsory module Critical Cases in Accounting and Finance. They then choose from an extensive list of specialist options, including Advanced Financial Accounting, Auditing, Forensic Accounting, Behavioural Finance, International Business Finance, Private Equity, Taxation, Portfolio Management, and a dissertation. This structure ensures that graduates develop a comprehensive and adaptable skill set suited to diverse roles in accounting, finance, and related fields.
