COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering provides a comprehensive education in the principles and applications of modern electronic and electrical systems. In the first two years, students build a solid foundation in key subjects including circuit theory, digital electronics, embedded systems, communications, power electronics, and the underlying physics of electronic devices. Core modules cover topics such as circuit analysis and design, microcontrollers, algorithms, numerical mathematics, electronic design, transistors, optoelectronic devices, and communications theory, along with hands-on projects that develop practical laboratory and programming skills. Mathematical modules support the understanding and analysis of engineering problems, while project-based modules enhance teamwork and problem-solving abilities. In the final year, students focus on specialized areas such as RF and microwave systems, electric machines, control systems, and professional engineering practice. The individual engineering project allows students to apply their knowledge to real-world problems, fostering independent research, project management, and technical expertise. Optional modules give students the opportunity to explore subjects such as digital media engineering, digital communications, and electric power systems, further tailoring the degree to their interests. Across all three years, the course combines theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional development to prepare graduates for careers in industries ranging from telecommunications and computing to energy and advanced manufacturing.
