COURSE CURRICULUM

The Modern Languages and Business BA is a four-year program that combines advanced language learning with comprehensive business and management education. In the first year, compulsory modules provide a foundation in research, academic skills, and core business concepts, preparing students for further study in management, organisational behaviour, and the economic and international business environment. Language learning is integrated from the start, with beginners focusing on rapid skill development and advanced learners consolidating and expanding their proficiency. Students also explore the cultures and societies of countries where their chosen languages are spoken, studying topics such as literature, cinema, popular culture, history, and politics to develop a broad cultural understanding. A compulsory year abroad in the third year allows students to immerse themselves in the language, culture, and business environment of their host country, enhancing both linguistic skills and practical knowledge of international markets. In the final year, students undertake a Final Year Project in either business or their chosen language and select optional modules to deepen expertise in specialised business or cultural areas. By integrating language proficiency, cultural awareness, and business acumen, this degree equips graduates with the communication, analytical, and professional skills needed for a successful international career in global business.
