COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Fashion Marketing at the University of Leeds equips students with the skills and knowledge to become creative, ethical, and forward-thinking fashion marketers capable of responding to the dynamic, socially and environmentally conscious fashion industry. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in fashion marketing theories, design studies, and creative communication, exploring how technology, society, and culture influence fashion trends, styling, and consumer behaviour. Core modules develop critical thinking, research, academic writing, and visual communication skills, while specialist and optional modules allow exploration of areas such as the fashion industry, information design, photography, and colour application. In the second year, students focus on fashion trends, brand communication, and post-digital design experiences, developing forecasting, marketing strategy, and practical skills to devise innovative brand solutions. They also continue to refine research, analysis, and design methods, applying these to real-world contexts and emerging technologies. The final year emphasizes independent research and strategic application, with core projects including the Major Research Project, the Fashion Marketing Major Project, and Fashion Futures, allowing students to develop, promote, and evaluate new fashion or lifestyle brands. Optional modules provide further flexibility to explore advertising, collaborative promotion, styling, and social design. The program prepares graduates to contribute meaningfully to the future of the fashion sector, combining creativity, strategy, and ethical awareness.
