COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Intelligence and Analytics (Professional Practice) MSc program includes a wide range of modules designed to develop strong analytical, technical, and professional skills for data-driven decision making. Students study core topics such as Statistics and Simulation Modelling and Management Science Modelling, which build quantitative and problem-solving abilities. Managing Big Data and Data Analysis and Visualisation focus on handling large datasets and presenting insights effectively, while Intelligent Business Information Systems explores how technology supports business operations. The Global Professional module enhances employability and global awareness. Additional modules such as Quantitative Financial Analysis and Research Methods strengthen analytical thinking and research capabilities, while the Individual Research Project allows students to investigate a specific topic in depth. Practical and professional skills are further developed through Consultancy Skills and a Group Consultancy Project, where students apply their knowledge to real business scenarios. The Launch a Venture module encourages entrepreneurial thinking and innovation. A key component is the Professional Practice module, offering a six-month placement to gain real-world experience and reflect on personal development through a reflective log. However, placements are competitive, limited, and not guaranteed. Overall, the program provides a strong balance of theory, practical application, and professional experience.
