COURSE CURRICULUM

The Project (Health Related) module for the Podiatry MSc allows students to complete 120 credits through a selection of advanced option modules designed to enhance their specialist clinical knowledge and skills. Core areas of study include the Theory of Clinical Practice, which provides a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based approaches and the theoretical foundations of podiatric care. Clinical Assessment and Management develops students’ abilities to evaluate, plan, and implement effective treatment strategies for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions. The Clinical Investigations and Diagnostic Imaging for Podiatrists module equips students with the knowledge to interpret diagnostic results and integrate imaging techniques into patient care. Injection Therapy (Theory) for the Foot and Ankle introduces principles of targeted therapeutic interventions to manage musculoskeletal and soft tissue conditions. Person Centred Care focuses on the holistic needs of patients, promoting compassionate and individualized approaches to treatment. Independent and Supplementary Prescribing provides students with the regulatory, pharmacological, and practical knowledge to safely prescribe medications within their professional scope. Together, these modules offer a structured pathway for developing advanced clinical competence, combining theoretical understanding with practical application. By completing this project-focused pathway, students enhance their ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-based podiatric care and advance as specialist practitioners in the field.
