The Forensic Science (Forensic Chemistry) MSc provides a comprehensive program combining practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and research experience to prepare students for careers in forensic science. Crime Scene Science Awareness introduces students to the principles and techniques required for effective evidence collection and management at crime scenes, emphasizing accurate documentation and methodical procedures. Forensic Science Awareness gives a broad understanding of forensic disciplines and their role in the criminal justice system. Quality and Presentation of Evidence focuses on maintaining the integrity of evidence, as well as effectively presenting findings and preparing to defend results in court. Forensic Casework Practice develops practical laboratory skills, enabling students to analyze real-world forensic samples using established scientific methods. Forensic Taphonomy explores the processes affecting human remains, including decomposition and environmental influences, providing essential knowledge for reconstructing events in investigations. Advanced Forensic Skills builds specialized technical expertise in areas such as toxicology, arson analysis, and ballistics, equipping students to handle complex forensic challenges. The Forensic Research Project allows students to conduct an independent investigation, applying theoretical knowledge and practical techniques to address a specific forensic problem. Collectively, these modules ensure graduates gain strong analytical, technical, and professional competencies, preparing them for employment in forensic laboratories, research roles, and other related scientific and investigative careers.
