The Forensic Science (Forensic Biology) MSc offers a structured and comprehensive program that combines practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and research experience. Crime Scene Science Awareness introduces students to the principles and procedures of evidence collection and management at crime scenes, emphasizing the importance of accuracy and methodology. Forensic Science Awareness provides a broad understanding of the field, including key forensic disciplines and their applications within the criminal justice system. Quality and Presentation of Evidence focuses on ensuring the integrity of evidence and effective communication of scientific findings in legal contexts. Forensic Casework Practice develops practical skills required to analyze real-world forensic samples and apply scientific methods in laboratory settings. Advanced Forensic Skills further enhances students’ technical proficiency, covering specialized techniques in areas such as DNA analysis, body fluids identification, and other critical forensic biology methods. Forensic Taphonomy explores the processes affecting human remains, including decomposition and environmental factors, providing insight into reconstructing events for investigative purposes. The Forensic Research Project allows students to undertake an independent research study, integrating theoretical knowledge and laboratory techniques to address a specific forensic question.
