The MMus in Music Performance offers a structured curriculum designed to develop advanced skills, critical understanding, and professional expertise in music performance. Core modules such as Researching Music provide students with the tools to investigate musical practices, analyse repertoire, and engage with scholarly and creative research, fostering the ability to make original contributions to the field. Performance 1 and Performance 2 focus on practical development, allowing students to refine technical skills, enhance interpretative abilities, and build confidence in live performance across their chosen specialism or genre. These modules encourage regular practice, performance, and evaluation, enabling students to apply research insights to practical contexts and develop a high standard of musicianship. Performance in Context complements these practical modules by exploring the social, historical, and cultural frameworks in which music exists, helping students understand the wider significance of their performance work and its impact on audiences.
