COURSE CURRICULUM

The Law and Practice LLB(Hons) program provides a comprehensive foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of law, preparing students for careers in legal practice. In the first year, students focus on essential skills and knowledge, including 21st Century Legal and Employability Skills, Contract Law, Criminal Law, the English Legal System and Method, Law in Society, and Public Law. These modules develop a strong understanding of legal principles while also building employability, research, and analytical skills. The second year expands into more specialized areas of law, such as EU Law, Equity and Trusts, Land Law, and the Law of Torts, giving students a deeper appreciation of both national and international legal frameworks and their applications. In the final year, students study advanced practice-focused modules including Administration of Estates, Business Law and Practice, Criminal Litigation, Dispute Resolution, Professional Conduct, and Property Law and Practice, providing practical legal expertise essential for a professional legal career. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to apply their knowledge in realistic contexts, develop professional skills such as legal research, drafting, and advocacy, and gain transferable skills including critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. Graduates leave with the competence and confidence to pursue careers as solicitors, paralegals, legal assistants, or advisors in a variety of legal and related sectors.
