COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biology (Molecular and Cellular) with Research Placement BSc(Hons) program offers a comprehensive study of living organisms at the molecular and cellular level, combining theoretical knowledge with extensive practical experience. In the first year, students build a foundation in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, analytical science, microbiology, and practical chemistry techniques, alongside developing essential research skills. The second year deepens understanding through advanced study of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, while continuing to refine research methods. The third year focuses on a supervised research experience, providing students with hands-on, real-world exposure to scientific investigation, experimental design, and data analysis under academic guidance. In the fourth and final year, students complete an independent research project, exploring current topics in molecular life sciences and investigating the mechanisms and pathology of cancer and other chronic diseases.
