COURSE CURRICULUM

The Quantity Surveying BSc (Hons) course is structured over three years to progressively develop technical knowledge, professional skills, and industry understanding. In Year 1, students are introduced to the fundamentals of construction through modules such as Design and Construction Practice, Construction Business and Law, and Building Technology and Digital Communication. These subjects build a foundation in how construction projects are designed, regulated, and communicated using modern digital tools. In Year 2, the focus shifts to more practical and collaborative learning, where students work on interdisciplinary projects in the Collaborative Project Built Environment module, while also developing key skills in Quantification and Cost Management and advancing their knowledge of construction systems through Building Technology and Digital Detailing. By Year 3, students are prepared for professional practice, studying modules such as Professional Practice, Advanced Measurement and Commercial Management, and Procurement and Contract Administration, which reflect real-world industry responsibilities. The course culminates in a Major Project Dissertation, allowing students to research and apply their learning to a specific topic in depth. Overall, the program ensures a balanced development of technical expertise, commercial awareness, and professional competence.
