COURSE CURRICULUM

The Nursing (Adult) BSc(Hons) program is designed to develop students into competent, compassionate, and professional adult nurses, combining theoretical knowledge with extensive practical experience. In the first year, students build a foundation in adult nursing, focusing on becoming a professional nurse, introducing key concepts in adult nursing, and developing essential clinical skills through Nursing Practice 1 and 2. Modules in understanding knowledge and evidence for nursing support the development of critical thinking and evidence-based practice. In the second year, the emphasis shifts to developing advanced professional skills and applying theoretical knowledge to complex care scenarios. Students engage in Nursing Practice 3 and 4, while deepening their understanding of research, evidence-based practice, and critical skills in adult nursing. This year also focuses on personal and professional development, preparing students for leadership responsibilities in healthcare settings. The third year consolidates learning and prepares students for professional practice. Modules in being a professional, enhancing knowledge and skills in adult nursing, and using evidence and research to improve practice complement practical experience in Nursing Practice 5 and 6. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience in diverse clinical settings, integrating theoretical knowledge with practice, and developing communication, decision-making, and leadership skills. By graduation, students are prepared to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate adult nursing care across a range of healthcare environments.
