COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured to develop students’ skills in computer science and games programming through a combination of core computing knowledge and specialised game development modules. In the first year, students build a strong foundation by studying computing science and mathematics, computer organisation and architecture, computer networks, and both procedural and object-oriented programming. A project module allows them to apply their learning in a practical context and develop problem-solving abilities. In the second year, the focus shifts towards games-specific topics, including real-time graphics and game engine architecture, alongside core subjects such as algorithms and data structures and an introduction to artificial intelligence. Students also take part in a team-based games project, helping them gain collaborative and development experience similar to real industry environments. In the third year, students further enhance their expertise through advanced computer games development modules, while continuing to build teamwork skills through another group project. They also complete an individual project, which allows them to explore a chosen area of interest in depth and demonstrate their technical and creative abilities. Overall, the course provides a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, preparing students for careers in games programming and the wider computing industry.
